How to Create an Animated GIF in Photoshop
June 29, 2010 by Brian DAlessandro
Let's say you have a folder full of images that you want to sequence together as frames.
Here's how to do it in Photoshop:
1. Open all of the images you want to use in Photoshop.
2. Select all of the images in the Layers panel.
3. Go to File > Save for Web & Devices.
4. In the Save for Web & Devices dialog box, select the GIF format.
5. Click the Options button.
6. In the GIF Options dialog box, select the following settings:
- Looping: Forever
- Disposal: Don't Dispose
- Transparency: Preserve Transparency
7. Click OK.
8. Click Save.
WEB: Photoshop CS5 doesn't seem to natively support saving image as APNG even tho few of the major browsers already support it. Are there any export plugins or such available for?
To save your animation you must go to File > Save for Web & Devices. This will open a menu with many bells a whistles. The only thing you care about though is if that 3D looking little drop box says "APNG".
